Our Story | Natural Soy Wax Melts and Candles

The Birth of JuLo Naturals Natural Soy Wax Melts and Candles

JuLo Naturals is a family business. We have a passion for natural candles. This all started in 2012 when I decided I wanted to make candle favors for a Thanksgiving dinner we were hosting, That turned into baby shower favors for my baby shower, and then a friend's shower and then another friend and so on and so forth. One of my dear friend's husband would always say I needed to open a shop so everyone could just buy the candle they love whenever they ran out. At that point friends would wait for my next event to get the next signature candle lol. So my husband and I sat down and talked about opening a shop. These were the questions we had to ask ourselves to create a brand that we would be proud to sell.

1. Why Candles?
Because Candles and Melts are AMAZING, They are warm and relaxing and because most people enjoy giving and receiving them as gifts.

2. What MUST's are there for our brand?
PHTHALATE FREE, Natural Soy, Cotton lead free wicks, no dyes or added junk, You would not believe how toxic the average paraffin wax candle can be. We Believe in non toxic beautiful, aesthetically pleasing candles and melts that leave your house smelling like home.

3. What should we name our Brand?
We started off with the name MELT, it didn't feel right and we looked at our kids Julius and Willow and fused them together and came to the name JuLo Naturals. Our son (who wicks the candles) said "It is PERFECT Mom" and there it was... Our family Brand had a name.

4.The Logo....
Dragonflies have been around my son and I for as long as I can remember. specifically one it is bright orange and unforgettable. We believe our dragonfly friends are little hellos from heaven.

5. Can we buy a machine to make the candles faster/easier?
The short answer was YES, but the important answer is NO. Once you start making larger batches the scent in each candle becomes inconsistent, I have learned that small batches are the way to go to make a truly remarkable and special candle.
